grading system is gaining support in baltimore city hall. >> that system would change the way city health officials inspect restaurants and bars by shining letter grades that would be posted in full view of customers. we give you a closer look. >> over jimmy's, the lunch rush is in full swing. not much has changed since the owner's family opened the place in the late '40s, so when asked about a new proposal by the city to assign grades to restaurants and bars concerning their city health inspections, he told us, why change the system that already works? >> the health department does their inspections. they do a good job of it. if a place should be closed down, it's closed down. i don't see what letter grades on the front really mean in reality. >> the bottom line is is the citizens deserve to know the conditions of the places they choose to eat. right now in the city they cannot do that. >> the idea comes from brandon scott and has full support from the city council. he said he got the idea after a number of complaints from his district at a recent trip to north carolina where all of the

into the city on the bridge. it's not stop and go. there's no major problems. livermore valley, as you drive through the castro valley. 880 from -- from hayward to union city. if you are driving in the south bay, this morning, 280 already slow. it went from a nice commute to all of a sudden on the road. getting on 280, 101 and 85 into sunnyvale. 7:09. >>> and the cardinals last year qualified. humidity is up for some. very calm conditions. there are signs. the humidity is up 70% for some. others are in the 0s. i mean, the humidity dropped at sfo about 16%. that's bone-dry. now it's 75%. we'll go 90 today. this is always a brutally challenged forecast. once the temperature drops, boy, does it ever. san francisco, 94 yesterday. 74 today. inland still dry but the west wind has not kicked in yet except at sfo. calm at oakland airport. calm at travis. a little puff of a west- northwest at santa rosa. the system right there producing snow up in montana is drawing up this little low that's been up more for the longest time as the high pressure builds here. that's ushering in a little cooler pattern

very cool out across big chunk of the country. 50 over in denver. 59 in rapid city and even cool ouof cleveland, temperatures in the 40s. 53 in new york city. that is for a strong cold front pushing eastward bringing cooler weather in parts of canada through portions of midwest, great lakes and across the northeast. so very cool air down from canada. in parts of the northeast we are dealing with effects from the cold front, showers in pennsylvania and across some of the great lakes. we have a heavier batch of showers move across the new york city area and parts of massachusetts and connecticut. so we had to deal with heavy downpours. there is a bit of a lull but there are areas of drizzle in northern parts of new jersey and upstate new york. at we head to the southeast, it's not producing a lot of rain. light drizzle across parts of the western carolinas. big impact is the cooler air mass that is settling on in. tonight, very cold out across parts of the plains. not as bad in parts of iowa and missouri. last night we were talking about temperatures below 30 degrees, now a little bette
